About us old

Orchestra

We are a crew of musicians, singers and volunteers with the name Police Symphony Orchestra. The word Police means Police nad Metují, a small town on the edge of the Czech Republic, where we come from. The orchestra was founded in 2010 by siblings Petra and Jakub Soukupovi. We play with taste and heart. Today there are already 150 of us and we are still rehearsing in the local monastery. In our repertoire you will find various musical genres – popular music, film soundtrack, rock, swing and classical. Joel Hána and Kryštof Koska are currently the conductors. The orchestral work is complemented by a choir led by choirmaster Lukáš Hrubeš and a quartet of soloist singers – Josef Fečo, Vendula Příhodová, Matěj Štrunc and Karolína Soukupová.

Through music we bring hundreds of people together, help and create unforgettable experiences together. We managed to sell out Lucerna, perform on safari, play on Radiožurnál airwaves and railway stations, in city radio stations all over the country, in the giant marquee and O2 arena, in the rocks or at the Grand Final of Smetana's Litomyšl. We also like to support charity projects, through which we have already donated over 3 million CZK to help the needy.

Among the artistic collaborations of the PSO, names such as French chansonist ZAZ, Ivo Kahánek, Tomáš Klus, Jan Cina, Marta Kubišová, Lucie Výborná, Losers Cirque Company, Divadlo Járy Cimrmana, composer Jan Lstibůrek, poet and lyricist Robin Král or members of the National Theater Ballet in Prague.
